Principal's Corner

Image for Welcome!

Dear Anderson Families,

I would like to take this this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Danielle Sharp and I am excited to be the new principal of Anderson! I am delighted to be part of the Anderson community. I was very recently hired, and over the last few days I have toured the campus, began to meet staff, and started the process of getting to know the school community and bringing myself up to date on Anderson’s school improvement plan, as well as learning what makes Anderson special place where students are our focus and priority.

I began my career in North Sacramento, and have spent 15 years working in Title I schools in Twin Rivers. Most recently, I served as a vice principal in a K-8 school in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of positions, including teaching kindergarten, third grade, and sixth grade, as well as serving as a reading intervention teacher, curriculum support teacher, and a beginning teacher support provider. I am a passionate advocate for all students, and have extensive experience working with English learners, low income students, and believe that all students can learn and deserve our best.

From my perspective, one of the most important parts of my work as Anderson’s principal is building solid relationships with students, families and teachers. It will be very important to me to be in the classrooms, on the playground, and in the community getting to know your children. In addition to building strong relationships with all of you, it is particularly important to me that you and your children feel safe and welcome at school- this is your school! Communication is paramount in a school. If you ever have a concern or a question, please do not hesitate to call or email me. I will always encourage you to contact your child’s teacher or myself with questions.

I feel lucky that district staff, including our own Liz Mayoral and Debbie Hart, is supporting me to make this a very smooth transition for students, teachers, and families. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
