Dear Anderson Families,

I am thrilled to be starting my third year as principal of Anderson School!  Over the last two years, we have had many accomplishments at Anderson.  WE have moved to a new lunch schedule which prioritizes student learning and health by playing first.  We are embarking on year 2 of PBIS: Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports.  You and your family should notice our new signs emphasizing our three rules for Anderson: Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.  We are Road Runner Strong!  We will continue with improving school climate by teaching all rules and expectations, rewarding students for following our rules, and reteaching when students struggle.  Also continuing are our token raffles and school wide rewards.  Academically, we will be focusing on improving reading and writing within K-2, and math for our 3rd- 6th grades.  Dixon Unified has provided more intervention teachers for this year, and we will also be providing science and PE instruction through specialized teachers!  It is going to be a great year at Anderson!

A little about me: I began my career in North Sacramento, and have spent 17 years working in Title I schools in Twin Rivers and Dixon. Prior to becoming principal of Anderson, I most recently, I served as a vice principal in a K-8 school in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of positions, including teaching kindergarten, third grade, and sixth grade, as well as serving as a reading intervention teacher, curriculum support teacher, and a beginning teacher support provider. I am a passionate advocate for all students, and have extensive experience working with English learners, low income students, and believe that all students will learn and deserve our best.

I live in Davis with my family, including my son London (11), daughter Alexandra (8), and husband Ryan.  When I'm not working, my children keep me busy running from Little League, to soccer, to softball.  Our family also enjoys hiking and swimming, and have been lucky to run into many Dixon families out and about!

We are blessed to have a talented staff at Anderson- and work with the best families around.
